Indigenous Peoples Day!

Don't forget, everyone, this weekend is a three-day one in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day!

Wait, Indigenous Peoples Day? What happened to Columbus Day?

Indigenous Peoples Day is a holiday celebrating the Indigenous, or Native, peoples of this continent. Many towns, cities, and states across the country have adopted it as an alternative to Columbus Day, which many feel celebrates colonialism and racism.

You can read the official statement made last year changing the holiday's name, and meaning, in Northampton.
